Skip every other rank across two separate foundations, one running ace to king and the other two to queen, in this leaner single-deck Boulevard.

Even and Odd Solitaire takes Boulevard Solitaire down to one pass through the stock instead of three, and a single deck instead of two. You still get the same nine one-card tableau piles and three six-card reserves, but the two foundation types run out sooner here: Foundation A climbs from ace to king in steps of two, seven cards at most, and Foundation B climbs from a two to a queen the same way, six cards at most.

When you want the odds stripped back to plain rules, classic Solitaire is still there.

How to play Even and Odd Solitaire

Foundation:

There are two types of foundation piles.

Foundation A:

Foundation A has four piles. Any ace can start an empty pile, and each of the four must start with a different suit. A card can be added to a Foundation A pile if it's two ranks higher than the pile's top card, any suit. So the card that goes on a 5 is a 7 of any suit. No pile can hold more than 7 cards.

Foundation B:

Foundation B has four piles. Any 2 can start an empty pile, and each of the four must start with a different suit. A card can be added to a Foundation B pile if it's two ranks higher than the pile's top card, any suit. So the card that goes on an 8 is a 10 of any suit. No pile can hold more than 6 cards.

Cards can't be moved off a foundation once they're placed.

Reserve:

There are three reserve piles of six cards each. The top card of each is dealt face-up; the rest are face-down. Cards can't be moved into the reserves. Each reserve's top card can only be played to a foundation.

Tableau:

There are nine tableau piles of one card each. Every card is dealt face-up.

No building is allowed on the tableau.

Tableau cards can be played to a foundation.

An empty tableau spot is refilled right away from the waste, or from the stock if the waste is empty. If the stock is also empty, the spot stays empty.

Only one card moves at a time; sequences aren't allowed.

Stock and waste:

There's one waste pile; the rest of the cards make up the stock.

Click the stock to deal one card to the waste. There's only one pass through the stock.

The top card of the waste can be played to a foundation or used to refill an empty tableau spot.
