Sort three decks, 156 cards, across twelve free cells and twelve packed tableau piles, all dealt face up with no stock to wait on. Just patience and a plan. FreeCell Three Deck Game Layout

FreeCell Three Deck Solitaire triples the classic game: three decks (156 cards), twelve free cells, twelve foundation piles, and twelve tableau piles of thirteen cards apiece, all dealt face-up right from the start. There's no stock or waste to wait on here, just patience and a plan for all those free cells.

The rules stay the same as plain FreeCell: build the tableau down in alternating colors, and park a card in a free cell when you need room to move. Want more cards on the board? FreeCell Four Deck Solitaire adds a fourth deck. Prefer a different take on three decks, with a slightly different tableau and cell count? Try Triple FreeCell Solitaire.

How to play FreeCell Three Deck Solitaire

Foundation:

There are twelve foundation piles.

Any ace in the foundation may be transferred to any vacant pile.

A card can be added to a foundation pile only if it's one rank higher and the same suit as the pile's current top card, so the only card that fits on a 4 of spades is a 5 of spades. There can be no more than 13 cards in a pile.

The top card of each foundation can be moved back into play if another pile will accept it.

Cells:

Twelve cells, all of which are originally vacant.

One card can be stored in each cell. Any available card can be played into any available cell. Cell cards can be played back to the tableau or the foundation.

Tableau:

Twelve tableau piles, each dealt thirteen cards face-up.

A card can be added to a tableau pile only if it's one rank lower and the opposite color of the pile's current top card, so the only cards that fit on the 6 of hearts are the 5 of spades and 5 of clubs.

Cards on the tableau that are not covered by another card can be played onto the foundation, an empty cell, or any other tableau pile.

Any card can fill an empty slot in the tableau.
