How to play Tens Out Solitaire

Layout:

12 tableau piles: Only the top card of each pile is in play. Pair up cards that add to ten, or match Tens, Jacks, Queens, and Kings with another of the same rank, then drag one onto the other to remove them. At the start of the game, the first four piles are dealt five cards each and the remaining piles are dealt four cards each, all face-up.

Foundation: A hidden pile where matched pairs go. Once a pair is removed, it's gone for the rest of the game.

Foundation:

There is one foundation pile, though you never see it during play. Matched pairs are sent there and can't be brought back into play.

Tableau:

Twelve tableau piles hold the whole deck: the first four have five cards each and the remaining eight have four cards each, all dealt face-up.

There's no building on the tableau; cards just sit and wait to be matched.

Any card not covered by another card is playable.

Once a tableau pile empties, it stays empty.

Notes:

The pairs that add up to ten: Ace-9, 2-8, 3-7, 4-6, and 5-5. Tens, Jacks, Queens, and Kings only pair with their own rank: 10-10, J-J, Q-Q, and K-K.
