Triangle Solitaire flips the classic Pyramid Solitaire layout upside down: seven cards across the top, shrinking row by row down to a single card at the bottom. It's brutally hard, with just a 2% chance of winning. It's played with a single deck, and luck decides almost every hand.

It's part of the same family as Eleven Triangle Solitaire, Giza, Pharaohs, Pyramid Golf, and Triangulum.

After a run of Triangle's brutal odds, original Solitaire is the natural next stop.

How to play Triangle Solitaire

Layout:

Inverted pyramid: An upside-down pyramid of cards. Only exposed cards can be played. Clear any two exposed cards whose ranks add up to 13. Kings already equal 13, so they clear alone. Drag one card onto another to clear the pair, or right-click a card to clear it on its own.

Stock: Click to turn over cards one at a time to the waste. There are no redeals.

2 waste piles: The top card of each can be played.

Pyramid:

Twenty-eight cards make up the pyramid. The top row has seven cards, dealt first. The next row overlaps it with six cards, then five, four, three, two, and finally one card in the last row. Every card is dealt face-up.

You can't build sequences on the pyramid.

Cards on the pyramid that aren't covered by another card are playable.

Empty slots on the pyramid may not be filled.

Stock and waste:

There are two waste piles, and the rest of the cards make up the stock.

Click the stock to deal one card to the waste. The stock's own top card is also dealt face-up, so you can pair it directly with an exposed pyramid or waste card without drawing it first. You get a single pass through the stock, no redeals.

The top card of each waste pile is available for play.
