Triple the deck of Canfield: three decks, seven tableau piles, a 26-card reserve, and one of the easiest win rates on the site, 99%. Triple Canfield Game Layout

Triple Canfield Solitaire triples the deck of the classic Thomas Warfield game Canfield Solitaire: three decks, seven tableau piles, and a 26-card reserve. That's fewer tableau piles and a smaller reserve than the related Three Demons, so the board stays a touch more compact. It's a simple game with a 99% chance of winning, played with three decks, and your odds come down to skill and luck alike.

Comparable games include Three Demons Solitaire, a related three-deck Canfield with a bigger reserve and two extra tableau piles.

How to play Triple Canfield Solitaire

Layout:

12 foundation piles: Build up in suit from the rank of the first card dealt, wrapping from King back to Ace as needed, until each pile holds 13 cards.

7 tableau piles: Build down by alternating color. A face-up run can move together as long as it's still in alternating-color order. Empty spots are filled from the reserve first, or by any card once the reserve runs out. Each pile starts with one card, dealt face-up.

Stock: Click to flip three cards to the waste at a time. Redeals are unlimited.

Waste: Top card is always available for play on the foundations or tableau.

Reserve: Top card is always available for play on the foundations or tableau. The reserve starts with 26 cards.

Foundation:

There are twelve foundation piles.

One foundation pile starts with a random card, and that rank becomes the starting point for every other pile.

A card can be added to a foundation pile only if it's one rank higher and the same suit as the pile's current top card, so the only card that fits on a 6 of clubs is a 7 of clubs. No pile can hold more than 13 cards.

The top card of each foundation can be moved back into play if another pile will accept it.

Reserve:

There is a single reserve pile, dealt with 26 cards to start. Only the top card is face-up; the rest are face-down. No cards can be moved into the reserve, but its top card can be played to the tableau or the foundation.

Tableau:

Seven tableau piles, one card each, all dealt face-up.

A card can be added to a tableau pile only if it's one rank lower and the opposite color of the pile's current top card, so the only cards that fit on a 4 of spades are the 3 of hearts and 3 of diamonds.

Any tableau card that isn't covered by another card is free to move to the foundation or another tableau pile.

An empty tableau spot is filled automatically from the reserve. Once the reserve is empty, any card can fill an empty spot.

A run of alternating red and black cards can be moved together from one tableau pile to another.

Stock and waste:

There is one waste pile and the remaining cards make up the stock.

When you click the stock, three cards are dealt to the waste. You can go through the stock as many times as you like. If fewer than three cards remain at the end of a pass, only those are dealt, and the waste is turned back into a new stock before the next pass begins.

The top card of the waste can be played to the tableau or foundation.
